After reading The Tattooist of Auschwitz I was left wanting more. I had long awaited this book and it certainly did not disappoint.
Cilka's Journey is an amazing follow up book but also just as good on it's own.
The book follows Cilka, a 16 year old girl, who winds up in a labor camp. We learn horrible secrets, harsh realities, and the truth about enduring love and friendships through this novel.
Cilka spends years in a labor camp before the end of the war and when she finally has hope of freedom she realizes it is just beyond her reach.
Like all of my favorite books, this has a happy ending... But the journey to get there is just as important as the arrival.
This book is a must read. Pick it up and you certainly will not regret it.
