This book was extremely moving. It follows along with a character who was previously mentioned in The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Cilka. I loved the first book so, this book was a must read for me. Unlike The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Clikas Journey does not follow too much of a romantic lead, but instead a powerful approach to surviving the outcomes of WWII. I ended up not being able to put the book down and was immediately drawn into finding out the next step in Cilkas path.

This book was heartbreaking at times, but also uplifting. It was amazing to watch Cilka use her resources to her advantage and to see how she navigated any obstacle thrown her way onto her path to achieving freedom.

I recommend this book to any historical fiction fans.
