Many thanks to Bookish First and St Martins publishing for the early review copy in exchange for an honest review.

This continues and goes into depth a character from The Tattoist of Auschwitz. This was about a real person and based on the author’s research of that time period and Cilka’s life.

The book mostly takes place in a prison camp where Cilka goes after Auschwitz. How depressing that people were further subjected to these camps after the concentration camps closed. The story is her life in this camp, and the relationships she has with people there. I wanted to read the book in one day and it wasn’t hard to do as the story flowed well and kept my attention.

This was interesting and I learned a lot. I’m glad I chose to read this! I think it really does an honor to the victims from these times to tell their stories.
