Heather Morris has done it again! If you are a fan of "The Tattoist of Auschwitz", you need to pick this up ASAP. Cilka was previously held in a concentration camp, and now that the war is over, has been taken prisoner. This is a very fast but heartbreaking read. This book is not for the faint of heart. There is so much about the Holocaust that I still do not know, but I absolutely had no idea how the state of the country was afterwards, and how so many people were wrongly imprisoned afterwards. Cilka's character is such a testament to learning how to survive, while still maintaining a heart of hold. This story, while heartbreaking is a must read for all ages. It is so important to dive deep into history to learn about the people we are surrounded with.
If you love historical fiction, you need to read this!! I will always be in awe of the stories Heather Morris writes, and I can't wait to see what is next!
