CILKA'S JOURNEY follows THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ and the brave, young woman Cilka.

The war is over, and her nightmare should be too. But instead Cilka finds herself on another train, unloaded at another camp, paraded beneath the eyes of another group of men.

Though this time, Cilka is reluctant to accept any benefits, anything that would give her a leg up on her fellow inmates. But fate has other ideas and Cilka ends up working in the medical building and impresses one of the female doctors so much, she ends up becoming a nurse.

Once again, Cilka finds herself better off than those around her. She brings food back to her hut every day and helps the other women with their health. But it's not enough for one of the women who knows Cilka's role while she was at Auschwitz and Cilka is blackmailed into stealing drugs.

Bad event after bad event pile on Cilka's shoulders. As a penance she volunteers to go out with the ambulance and ends up helping the family of a man with power, enough power to give Cilka the one thing she wants most. And it's not what you'd assume.

Powerful and heart wrenching, Cilka's story is one that needs to be remembered.
