I've only read the first part of the book so far, but look forward to reading the rest for my book club in a couple of months. This novel, by the NYT Bestselling author of "The Tattooist of Auschwitz," sets up a complicated scenario, one under which many prisoners found themselves in after WWII. Forced to survive under near impossible conditions only to see their glimps of freedom snatched out from under them when their so-called liberators re-imprisoned them, these poor lost souls went from one nightmare situation into another. Despite some minor issues I have with some of the formatting and style, this is a well-written and well-researched book based on real events and concepts that I believe my library's book club will really want to sink their teeth into it. I look forward to reading the rest.
