The first impression put a nasty taste in my mouth

I wanted to give this book a chance, reading that is does have a shred of truth as the basis, but the first impression put a nasty taste in my mouth and I couldn't finish reading it. It might end up being a good book, I might check reviews out of curiosity, but it's not for me.
