What a charming walk down memory lane. I enjoyed the effect that Haze had on Sam and reading Haze's view on world events from WWII through Trump. I particularly liked that Haze purchased and displayed a certain painting at the office. And I also smiled warmly at Sam's texts that were never sent. The book cover is beautiful and eye catching. I may even try the recipes which were a nice bonus. But don't be misled. Haze's life wasn't all roses and she didn't sugar-coat things. She writes about life as it is - the good, the bad and the ugly. There is definitely a liberal, feminist slant to her writing and the book in general. I would recommend this book to history lovers, feminists and people who enjoy baking.
