I was intrigued by this book by the cover and the title itself. Both seemed out of my comfort zone and unlike what I am usually drawn to (I usually gravitate towards WWII historical fiction and thrillers). It took me a little while to get into it as it was slow to start, but I felt like I was receiving a warm hug from all of the characters.
The premise of this book centers around a newspaper, specifically a column written by an elderly woman who has suffered a stroke. The premise of a newspaper column seemed old fashioned and nostalgic to me and the author portrayed that well. The writing was descriptive and witty. Overall, this is a great read if you are looking for something emotional but light, with a few laughs and a lot of wit.
