I received an advanced copy of Chronicles of a Radical Hag (with Recipes) by Lorna Landvik from BookishFirst in exchange for an honest review, and after reading this I wish I had someone like Hazel in my life!

Within the pages of Chronicles of a Radical Hag the reader is introduced to Hazel, Haze for short, an amazing, entertaining, and progressive woman who writes a column for the Granite Creek Gazette about anything and everything over a 50 year period. When she has a major stroke and is unconscious in a hospital bad, the newspaper decides to reprint her old columns, and what follows can only be described as awe-inspiring. As Haze lays in her bed, a community comes together in unbelievable ways, revealing the affect Haze has had on those who know her, and those that meet her through her words.

The way this novel is written is so unique and mades it so pleasurable to read; to be able to hear so many different voices within one story, in the various ways (columns, responses, journals, etc) helps to create a very enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this book.
