I don’t think this book is for me. I was sort of confused but maybe it would get better further on. This was just me though. I’m sure this will do great with other readers. I normally don’t read this genre. So I guess I should write this for those who like the genre. As for as the cover, I’m in the minority here. I wasn’t crazy about it at first, but now I feel it is sort of fitting. It is down to earth yet still interesting. It’s also nice there are recipes. From the first peek we got to read, it makes me sentimental. It reminds me of the snippets of newspapers my mom has showed me and talked about from the 1960s and 70s, the columnist would write about the families in our rural community. It would always be simple. Like each family would send something in or the author would see them out and write about it. So and so family went to church Sunday and it would name the church. How good the turn out was. What family visited which. Day to day pleasures that we no longer make time for. Everyone was so happy. But there wasn’t much negative in it. I can’t imagine having to write responses to the negative stuff like the lady in the book does. She sounds like she would be a great person and friend.
