great excerpt, but not my type of book

I could tell from the book cover that this isn't a book for me, but I try not to judge a book by its cover, so I read the excerpt. The excerpt was interesting and it flowed well, but it still wasn't the type of book I usually read, so I felt like I couldn't really get into it. (Maybe it's a mental block.) I think whoever reads this book will really enjoy it though.
