Immediately Immersive
As soon as I opened the PDF, I was extraordinarily interested and intrigued. The scene (after the prologue) opens with Mal, a former chess player, having boba with her best friend, who wants her to compete in a chess tournament after years of not playing. I think it's pretty obvious that Mal originally stopped playing because her dad died. That's just an assumption I have from what I was provided with. I really hate the dynamic of her family, and I feel awful that she has to take all this responsibility of her family. The PDF flew by, and I can't wait to read the entire book.
I personally have always adored Hazelwood's cover art and I think it portrays the main plot points very well. I'm excited to see how Mal and the Kingkiller get along and honestly am super curious as to how the romance blossoms.
