Like everyone else who was eagerly anticipating this book, I had very VERY high expectations. I've been a fan of Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter universe for years now (since middle school) and when she announced the Last Hours series, I was filled with both excitement and trepidation. It really is so easy for these things to go wrong and I've seen it happen a thousand times before.
However, Cassandra Clare clearly knows what she's doing. If you've ever loved any Shadowhunter book, this one is sure to blow you away. I'm amazed by how much she has grown as a writer, to go from City of Bones to THIS (no shade to City of Bones... I just mean that you can tell how much she has developed over the years). If you were ever hesitant before on picking up this book, let this be the encouraging nudge that gets you to dive in. It really is that good.
