First of all, this book is amazing! The setup. The romance. I can see it all happening. It kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the resolution. I like how she doesn't resolve the romance with the first kiss. How we still wait for the resolution even after. This is actually my personal favourite. It is so flavorful. the only problem I have with it is how often the main characters switch, although it is fun to have everyone's viewpoint, true. Still, it is so wow, I couldn't help but gush.

Chain of Gold is set in the 18th century, when pastel colours an belled skirts were all the rage, which you must know, is quite inconvenient for the half-Asian main character as it makes her look terribly washed. But back to the book. Unbeknownst to humankind, or mundanes as the Shadowhunters would call them, angels and demons have battled for centuries in a war for mankind. One of these Shadowhunters is Cordelia Carstairs. (Oh, and mermaids, faries, vampires and werewolves are real by the way.)
