This whole review could just be quotes, Cassie Clare has a way with words. I find myself at a loss to describe the beauty in which this book encompasses. The world of the shadow hunters is one that is easy to fall into, something that has not changed in this book. I find that Chain of Gold fills the gaps and plot holes that were so striking in the City of Bones series, bringing us better characters and plots. Perhaps that is just Cassandra Clare growing as a writer, finding the ability to express the world she wished to write in better and more thoughtful ways. That’s not to say City of Bones was bad, but this was 1000x better. It rivals even her Infernal Devices series which is by far my favorite!
