I absolutely loved this book. Every character felt so fleshed out and complex in the most beautiful way. I can’t wait to see how the journey progresses with James, Cordelia, and Lucie. The love triangle between James, Cordelia, and Grace was heart wrenching, especially when hints of Grace’s past come to the surface. I can’t wait to see where this goes. I also loved the added element of more interaction with ghosts and life after death than Clare’s other books. Jesse Blackthorn was so endearing and I immediately felt the kinship between him and Lucie and I so hope that their story does not end in tragedy. Also, the addition of Anna Lightwood as a character brings a ton more inclusivity with the LGBTQIA+ community!
If you loved any of the other Cassandra Clare, you will love this one. It’s a little slow going at the beginning but give it 100 pages to really get good.
