I read the first chapter of this book and all I can say is that Cassie Clare has gone and done it again. She has continued creating a cast of characters that we all can root for and enjoy following along on a new journey. The writing style is typical Clare—the beginning builds the characters and setting, as well as give nods to her previous works. Clare has the ability to make you connect with her characters fast, but still gives us enough mystery as to WHY we like these characters so much. Even though this book is a continuation of the Shadowhunters world, this book can be read without reading Clare’s other Shadowhunter books. However, I would recommend you read the rest of the series before this book.
