This is the first book by Casandra Clare that I've read and am overall impressed! This book took A LOT of dedication to push through, especially since it's the 1st of a trilogy and nearly 600 pages long. It captivated my interest from beginning to end. Though I did have to occasionally stop and look up the 18th terms.
Clare wasn't lying when she stated you do not need to read any of her previous works to enjoy CoG. I think that's what really made me enjoy it. The characters all felt like familiar friends, situations that character mentioned were later explained and we would go back in time with said character and relive those moments.
All to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait for its next installment☺!
