This was a fabulous book. While I didn't enjoy it as much as the other series, Cassandra Clare's writing is amazing and sucks you in no matter what. While this is a whole new series, it has little nods to the others, and you get to see glimpses of old friends from previous books. So fun to get a peek at Jem's life as a silent brother and the wedding everyone has been looking forward to. The Herondale name speaks for itself and you know there will always be something good attached to it.
I don't know how she creates this many more awesome characters that you automatically cheer for. The relationship between the Merry Thieves was so fun and you can just feel the bond that they all share together, from being friends for years. Just when I think that no more can be squeezed out of this world, I'm wrong and there is more action, demons, love triangles, happiness and heartbreak. I hate having to go back and reread the previous books before the new ones in the series come out because I have so many books I want to read, but it's always like going back to an old friend.
