I will preface this by saying I have not read any other Shadowhunter book by Cassandra Claire...maybe doing so would have been helpful, but I really didn't have much of an issue reading this short of keeping all of the MANY characters separate and identified in my mind.
I was very excited to read this book and was left a little disappointed for a couple of reasons. First, the book is exceedingly long considering the fact that not much of anything really happens. Second, I totally was not pleased with how the story ended.
I did enjoy getting to see into the lives of so many characters. Many books focus on only one or two characters but this book goes into significant detail about nearly all of the main characters.
Worth the read, and I definitely will read the next book in this series, but I would have been disappointed if I had preordered this book.
