Adding to her vast shadowhunter universe, Chain of Gold delivers a dynamic cast of character with a few already beloved ones sprinkled in. If you are a fan of the Infernal Devices, this series will be very intriguing. The audience gets to see how Will and Tessa act as heads of the institute. How Tessa being part demon affects her children. And most prominently, who her demon father is. The sprawling cast is a huge testament to Cassandra Clares world building skills. Set in london again and yet it shares none of the grungy undertones found in The Infernal Devices. I cannot explain how excited I am to read the next two books in the series as they come out. All of the characters have burrowed their way into my heart that is already constantly over flowing with beloved fictional characters. The story is very complex and is the fantasy is brilliantly blended with historical fiction.
