I have not read any Shadowhunter Chronicles books yet. A few months ago, I purchased boxed sets of the books, but haven't had a chance to read them yet. Now that a new series is beginning with "Chain of Gold," I suppose I'd better start reading them, and soon!
I was very excited to see Cassandra Clare on Bookish First. I've heard fantastic things about the Shadowhunter Chronicles novels.
As a new reader to the series, it seems like there are a lot of names being thrown around, which I would probably recognize if I were familiar with the other books. Since I am not, it's a struggle to pay attention to who each character is and why they may be important to the story. In any case, the author writes well, and it is easily discernible why readers of young adult fiction enjoy her books.
