This book is based in Beaufort South Carolina where Joey Green has returned home to help his mother take care of his father who was diagnosed with short term dementia. He may repeat himself while having a conversation but he remembers all of Joey’s most favorite stories from when he was a boy. Although, I was only able to read a first impression, I’m very intrigued and need to know what happens next.
It ended on a cliffhanger and I’m eager to know what secrets the Green family is hiding and what’s going to happen to Joeys father.
This book sounds like a mysterious, heartfelt, yet, heartbreaking book that I would be very interested in reading.
I really enjoyed the characters, the setting and the premise and curious to see if Joey’s dad’s memory is keeping him from remembering something sinister that happened and if Joey is able to find the object that’s missing from the tackle box.
