The cover doesn't really seem to match the synopsis. I mean the dark colors and the storm with the plantation house are rather generic. And I admit that thrillers and murder mysteries are not my genres. Although this one has a nice spin with the father who has dementia or Alzheimer's, although that's been done before. It seems every thriller always has a line something to the effect of "Resurfacing from decades past are mysteries that still have the power to shatter lives—and change everything they thought they knew." Generic thriller/mystery. This one will likely be a pass for me.
