Carolina Moonset by Matt Goldman opens with protagonist Joey Green visiting his parents in Beaufort, South Carolina. At the airport, his mother tells him that his dad doesn't have Parkinson's and Alzheimer's as thought, but instead has Lewy Body Dementia.
What follows are a few hard scenes depicting Joey's parents as having aged and his father unable to remember things. There is a bit of suspense at the end, when Joey can't seem to find his father's gun. I'm not quite sure what to expect -- more of a family story or a mystery?
