I really liked the overall premise of this book. Henry and Effie come from a farming community and come to stay at an after season area in New England for two weeks for their honeymoon. They are able to explore each other and learn about each other sexually for the first time, but after the first week are bored and want to go home. They end up meeting up with a girl that Effie knew as a child and never had fond feelings for. They end up spending a lot of time with Claire, Max, and Alma for lack of better things to do and decide to extend their holiday and get loose with lots of drinking and partying. Henry ends up having an affair with Alma and they end up swapping partners with the other couple. It strains their marriage and they have to determine if they can ever trust again. There is lot of sexuality and exploration in this novel that makes this novel different from anything I have read previously.
