I went into this book after reading the first impression expecting something similar to The Paris Wife. A story about a troubled marriage, but this was a profoundly slow book with characters who didn't want to seem to learn any of the lessons the book was trying to teach them. I was surprised by the explicitness of the sex scenes, they felt gratuitous and a little overwrought. The setting was fairly interesting, but the whole concept seemed a little underdeveloped and the execution wasn't what I expected. I can't in good conscience recommend this book since I found it overall to be fairly dull and slow. The epilogue seemed out of place with the rest of the story, and I failed to understand what purpose it served. This was a very disappointing read.
