This book looks like it will be an excellent one to add to the beach read pile for the summer. The writing is very well done for a debut book. The imagery that is evoked is strong. I feel like a fly on the wall as Effie and Henry navigate the Clara, Max and the others who have descended on Cape May. It has a feel of The Great Gatsby to it with its alcohol infused revelry. Though it also made me think of the movie Beaches and the lost innocence and how things change or how the past can be rose-tinted. Will definitely want.to see where Cheek takes this story through to its final page.
