I have never read any of Wilbur Smith's books. I do have to say though that this book is definitely not for me. I just couldn't catch on to the story. Mungo sounds like a horrible person to begin with. The dialogue though was written very well and I felt like I could picture myself in this debate. It was cleanly argued even for such touching topic on slavery. Still this book is not for me.
