Call of the Raven begins with an exciting start. They're discussing slavery, and the main character, Mungo, is obviously on the side of evil, but he thinks he's on the side of right. It looks like he'll make an excellent morally gray protagonist. I've read a Wilbur Smith book before and it was excellent. I'd like to read this one as well.
