I hadn't read the previous Mungo St. John book that the author alludes to in the prologue, so I don't have a reference for where the character is going, but already I can tell this book is going to incredibly thought provoking. The discourse about slavery in the first debate (comparing slavery in America to working in a mill or factory for less than a living wage) has my mind racing about what we might tolerate because of how it's packaged. I would definitely read this book when it comes out.
