In this fun and bookish romance novel, 30 something Anne Corey is an English Professor who finds out that her new boss, Adam, is her ex fiance from college. Throughout the school year she has her ups and downs, trying to get her book published, dating another author, rekindling a friendship with Adam, and handling family issues.

I am not normally a fan of romance novels but this was fun and a great light read. Any book lover will appreciate the similarities and references to classic books and poetry. The plot went at a good place and never felt boring. I couldn't really get into character of Larry that much. I felt like a lot of his behavior was silly for a college professor. He did give the novel some humor though. I also thought the end was very rushed. There's this build up throughout the whole novel and then it plays out all in one small chapter. I would have liked to see more at the end.

Overall, this was a great book, and that's saying something since I'm not a romance fan. I think the author is someone to watch and I will definitely read her future books.

Thank you to Bookish First for sending me a copy of this novel to review.
