The opening of the book is hilarious with how the student just openly says why they are missing class because the student is at burning man and isn't even pretending to be professional and how much the teacher is just fed up and can't believe that they just wouldn't lie about it. It seems like she likes the books that she teaches and that most everyone else doesn't want to read them or just want to give the simplest answers. I like how she seems real and is a funny character who ends up late or teaches what they love even if no one else seems to. It seemed ironic and sad that her ex fiance became her boss. She seemed scared and freaked out and it seemed interesting to see how all of that was going to go.
