I loved the cover art, but when I first opened my package I was unpleasantly surprised by the texture. I didn't like how it felt in my hands. As for the story, By The Book was a fast and mostly enjoyable read. I found myself rooting for Anne and Adam, but not incredibly emotionally invested in their relationship. I spent most of the book annoyed with Anne's sister, Anne's knowledge of Larry being in a cheating relationship, and Anne's boyfriend. I enjoyed reading the email interactions between Anne and her friends and thought it was an interesting way to add information to the story.
