While I enjoyed By The Book, by Julia Sonneborn, it wasn't something that ever really pulled me in. The characters seemed under developed & the love story was lacking for me. I knew Anne & Adam would end up together, but I didn't really love how that happened. It felt rushed, after pages of this great romance they once had & then it was just like, ok we're together now & completely in love. After that we went through, I would have liked more of an ending, showing them in their new life together, starting their family, etc. Larry was by far my most favorite character & I was thankful there was the funny best friend in the book. I think I would read something from Julia Sonneborn again, but By The Book was just lacking for me.
