As a lover of all things Jane Austen and specifically "Persuasion," I was excited to read this blurb of a new take on the classic romance. Ultimately, my reaction was kind of "meh?" The story simply jumps into things too quickly for my taste, and relies too much on Anne's inner dialogue telling us things, rather than showing us. I'm still intrigued enough to want to read more, but it wasn't as strongly written as I had hoped.
