Excerpt first impressions: This novel starts strong. The setting and details the reader understands of the college atmosphere, the students that she’s dealing with, the relationship that she has with her best friend Larry, and even a little intricate things like the stacks of books in her office in the mess of Starbucks cups all add to the atmosphere of her persona. I really enjoyed the setting and the narrative dialogue happening. Admittedly, as a teacher, I got a little chuckle out of the email conversation right at the beginning, because it is so true! I look forward finishing this book and continuing the journey. I’m an English teacher myself so I have a personal connection to this. Great start!
