This is a story of when the past meets the present as well as good versus evil in the first book in this new series. A murder links present to the past and DC Jack Warr needs to figure how and he will get quite the surprise when he finds out the many ways.
The characters in this book clearly delineate how the past and present are represented and the smoothness in which the story changes direction between those two times is fantastic. There is plenty of action, suspense, mystery, and whodunnit to engage even the most picky reader and the ending will either take you by surprise or having you go "Yes, I thought so".
I had heard of Lynda La Plante before and have some of her books on my tbr but hadn't read one until now so I can tell you I will definitely be reading another book of hers soon as well as stay on the look out in the next book in this series.
