Usually I don't like chapters from a villain's point of view, but the prologue here was suspenseful, and I found myself wanting to know what Ester had in store for Dolly. As for the hero Jack, I did not find him sympathetic. He seemed unmotivated and aimless or disinterested. Also, I didn't care for some of the language in this sample.
