A fire at destroys Rose Cottage with the charred remains of a body inside the remains. Cause of the fire while unknown seems suspicious. The odd thing about the body is that it has been burned to the skeleton. Another odd thing is that the charred paper remains found with the body are old five-pound notes. In all, nearly 2 million pounds in charred notes are uncovered.

A detective, Jack Warr, who has newly moved to London with his girlfriend Maggie hoping to start a new life. That new start begins when Jack is assigned to the case. Interestingly enough, there are hints that Dolly Rawlins, Ester Freeman, and Gloria Radford are connected with the case.

Hmmm! I read about them in the last Lynda La Plante book I read! I reviewed SHE'S OUT last November. This book might well be an exciting follow up to the previous one and I am looking forward to reading it.

BURIED is the beginning of a new series by the author and I would love to make it the third Lynda La Plante book I have read and reviewed for Bookish First.
