The initial introductory paragraphs threw me off as being a bit raunchy and crass, without background provided. When it jumps back forward in time, the case finds a potential sex offender burned along with a ton of money.
I didn't feel much for the detectives yet but the case is interesting enough. I don't know if the jumping around between characters and viewpoints is good or not yet but it seemed like too much too soon. I would read the book at some point but not jumping to right now!
