This book was so quick to pull the reader into the storyline , a small town place with lots of kinfolk , a small town girl taking on her father and grandfathers legacy of being the mayor and running the town as best as they would , needs protecting from a lowlife guy who only wants to be involved with her for her family money and prestige , he then disappears and. Her brother highers a trooper to protect her and keep her safe from harms way , she then falls in love with this man and while there in the mayors building a fire breaks out and the minister/firefighter has to rescue them both then they find Boone with broken bones after he traps her in her office so she can’t get out . They find him and take him to hospital where the police have a few questions they need answered And a happy ending ensues !
