When I read the blurb for this book, I wasn't convinced. However, upon reading the first look, I'm sold. Iloh drops us right into the heart of Brooklyn from the first few pages, I felt I was right there walking down the street to the bodega with Minah. I love books with real characters and atmospheric settings and I got both that from this book. Can't wait to read more!
