The cover definitely conveys the feel of the book. The blurb didn't really catch my attention as it is definitely YA and I am not that demographic. I think that this book will have an audience. I like seeing books written by BIPOC authors. But I just couldn't get into the story. The writing, the tone, and the language used didn't appeal to me. I also dislike books where text messages are not only written out but written in a different font. I find that disrupts the flow of the story.
