What a difference a month makes. I liked the preview and wanted more, but by the time the book came, life has changed so much. Now reading these stories, I still feel they are well written, but it was so depressing now that I had trouble with some of the stories.
Stories of unhappiness at home, such as the first one, with infertility issues and another was mourning the loss of a spouse. These stories might not resonate with me right now, but that is all I see in the news is loss.
My reading choices are those that help me escape mentally and these stories were not able to help me do that at all. It is maybe just the wrong time for this book. If it had come out months ago, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more.
