To start, this is my first read by Lynda La Plante. Love the cover it's vibrant, mysterious, and catches your eye. I am a little behind since this is book 6 the Tennison series, so I am a little out of the loop and behind on what has happened with the character detective previously. I like to read strong female leads, and Jane is a great character!! This was a little less of a thriller than I usually read, it brought out the feel of old detective type work that is still interesting, like a detective show off of television. Some parts were a little slow, and I found that the book was longer and a little more drawn out than I thought it would be but overall interesting. I would read this author again but I would start at the beginning of the series! I still liked the writing, mystery, and female lead basing the book from. I am always up for a mystery read and this was pretty good overall for me!
