This was my first time reading the author and I was totally hooked. I loved the police procedural aspect. Apparently this is part of series- this is book number 6- but it was totally fine being read as a stand alone.I enjoyed the straightforwardness of the police work. It was well written and so much detail at the inner workings of a murder squad. I enjoyed the main character of Jane- I think she was a great character and I'd be interested in reading more. In the beginning of the book you learn about her and her background instead of rushing right to the plot. In this case I think it worked and I enjoyed it.
I think the plot and mystery was very well done and it had me turning the pages. If you like crime and police workings this is a book for you.
