Detective Myster
Blunt Force by Lynda La Plante was my first book by this author. I love all detective mysteries and especially British ones. I think the character of Tennison is fantastic and considering this is the sixth one and I have not read any of the others I did not feel as if i was missing out, it can definitely be read as a stand-alone book. I liked the character, i liked the murder mystery, who-dunnit - and i loved the implication of the motive at the end - i even liked that it was resolved but left you hanging just enough to think there would be a seventh book.
my only annoyance with the book was the amount of times the male characters frustratedly said "i know that" or "i can read". i don't know if this was trying to be like a courtroom tv drama in book form but i found that unnecessary. Normal conversations could have been had without me being told that they were shouting (which felt awkward)
all - in all - enjoyable.
