‘Blunt Force’ is my second attempt with Lynda La Plante’s bibliography, and perhaps my last attempt as well.

I put ‘Blunt Force’ down around the same point as her March 2020 release’Buried’. There’s not a single thing I can pinpoint as “problematic” or “awful” I just seemingly cannot bring myself to care about the plot, the characters, the writing- essentially anything at all.

I wanted so badly to fall in love with Lynda La Plante’s novels, not only because of my friends’ love of her works but also because of Karin Slaughter’s (one of my favorite authors) continuous hype of these novels.

I may try again in the future- but at the same time I don’t know if I will be going out of my way to read the summaries of her upcoming works.

I would highly recommend fans of Patricia Cornwell check out Lynda La Plante’s bibliography.

Side note: I’m aware this was the sixth book in a series, however I don’t think series like these have to be read in order to be enjoyable.
